adventures in learning and love: August 2011

I had a WONDREFUL day today. Just little things today went my way..it was nice. 2 great things that happened today: 1. (this one comes with a small story) i've been wanting to try bare minerals for a while now, but havent been willing to shell out the investment. The other day i was thrilled to see that ULTA was offering a small trial size for a mere $20- i could handle that! So i grabbed the BFF and we headed off to what was to become the most depressing trip to ULTA we have ever taken, and we go there often. Needless to say they were SOLD OUT of the trial size :( i was sad , and probably mentioned it every day since about how bummed i was, and that i still wanted to try it...well today i decided out of nowhere to swing by ULTA and just see if maybe B.M. was on sale...and lo-and-behold sitting on a shelf all by itself was 1-just one- very lonely $20 trial size from the other day (forgot to mention the lady behind the counter said it was a random deal and they weren't getting anymore) i was THRILLED! i snatched it up along with some Sally Hansen nail polish strips that were on clearance (i've been dieing to try those too) Can't wait to try out both my finds tonight! and 2. MY WARBY PARKER HOME TRY ON KIT WAS ON MY FRONT PORCH WHEN I GOT HOME! :)
I just want to start by saying i absolutely do NOT get paid in any way to endorse anything, at all, ever. i would love to, haha, but as for now i do not. with that being said..i stumbled upon (saw in Real Simple magazine) an amazing website i want to share with everyone. www.warbyparker.com -This website sells prescription eye wear, for a very affordable price ( all pairs are $95.00, including prescription and shipping!!) If thats not exciting enough for you, what do you think about this- for every pair you buy they provide a pair for someone in need...say what? yep! At least thats what they claim to do, i havent met anyone personally that has had the oppurtunity to receive any, but i'm sure they didnt just make it up.
On top of their AMAZING prices and awesome charity, they offer virtual try-on ( upload your own picture to the site, and try some glasses onto your picture face) OR free (thats right COMPLETELY FREE) 5 day at home try on...do what now? You pick 5 pairs of glasses from the site, they ship them to you COMPLETELY FREE, including pre-paid return labels, you try them on at home for 5 days, plenty of time to show them off to the peeps who's opinion matter most to you, then simply ship them back and order the frames you liked best in your prescription...OR you can just keep the frames and get your prescription put in somewhere locally if you prefer...i think you get like 10% off if you choose this option...but why would you? haha.
